This was one of those dreaded test days. The post-test is finished, and we are going to be in the computer lab tomorrow working on something new and part I of the narrative writing. Progress Reports come out Monday, as well!
So, we have been doing a lot of ACE writings lately. I am going to put all five of them up here, including the one's from today's test. The test part should be graded and visible in INOW tomorrow, and the writing part should be finished by Thursday.
So, Weebly hasn't been playing nice lately. have been attempting to post, and it is just not happening. There is a test over the last 100 pages or so of Troy tomorrow, so be ready!!
It has been more than a couple days since I posted here, and I apologize. I promise I will do better.
We are progressing nicely with Troy, and we started vocabulary as well. Parents, ask your children why we won't have any vocabulary tests this year and see if they can explain it to you. We will be in the computer lab tomorrow getting signed up on turnitin.com and working on another ACE writing.
We got to review Troy today, but the students also wrote ACE #1:
Explain how Iason's injury had formed who he was as a person. Why did he roam when he did? Why was he more comfortable with the horses? Cite textual evidence to support our answer.
This is a great first ACE, especially since there are multiple answers which must be given.
Also, make sure to read to pg. 154 for Monday!
The main writing process we will use this year, called the ACE method, has officially been introduced. We are going to use the ACE method all year, and all of our English and every other class uses this at NAHS. We also got the first pre-test out of the way.
Cornell Notes today over Troy pages 66-91. It went well, I think, and it definitely gives another option to note taking. It isn't required, but it is a nice option to change things up a bit. You should be to page 117 for tomorrow. We will be working on the pre-test, so at lest it won't be Troy for a change.
Also, I hope to see many of you parental units tomorrow night at Open House from 6-8!
